Every May, we recognize our graduating high school seniors. What an accomplishment!
We start with a special breakfast for them and their families at 8a on Sunday, May 14 in the Crosswalk area. We have a special time of recognition during the 9:00 service and show a DVD of their class during both worship services. Special seating is arranged that morning for them and their immediate families to sit together during worship. If you have a high school senior, please let us know of your plans to attend this day by completing the following online form no later than Sunday, April 23. We need to you to attach 5-7 pictures as well for use in the DVD.
CrossWalk is what we call our student ministry here at King’s Cross. CrossWalk describes what we hope to model to students as a church and ultimately lead them to do in their everyday lives . CrossWalk means accepting Jesus’ invitation to “Follow Me” and then actually discovering how to do that daily. Romans 12:1-2 says, “So here's what I want you to do, God helping you: Take your everyday, ordinary life—your sleeping, eating, going-to-work, and walking-around life—and place it before God as an offering. Embracing what God does for you is the best thing you can do for him. 2 Don't become so well-adjusted to your culture that you fit into it without even thinking. Instead, fix your attention on God. You'll be changed from the inside out. Readily recognize what he wants from you, and quickly respond to it. Unlike the culture around you, always dragging you down to its level of immaturity, God brings the best out of you, develops well-formed maturity in you.” (The Message) That's as good a description as any of what we want to inspire our students and our leaders to do!
